Creating great learning experiences
As the bank’s flagship learning and development centre, we design and deliver world-class learning for BMO employees. We create innovative programs that build new capabilities and shift mindsets and behaviours in every business group, every location, and every level of the company.
We’re also passionate about sharing our space with others to support their learning goals.
Learning at BMO
For over 25 years, BMO IFL has stood as a tangible symbol of our commitment to engage employees to think differently and see possibilities – for themselves and for our customers.
Since opening its doors in 1994, we have delivered more than a half million learning sessions to BMO employees.

Thinking Differently
Creating great learning experiences means paying attention to every detail – from course content to instructors, learning space, networking opportunities, accommodations and food. This unique approach ensures the learner experience not only reflects the bank’s values, but also how we treat our customers.

Enterprise Learning
BMO’s customer promise – “We’re here to help” – also extends to our employees. We care about giving our employees opportunities to grow throughout their careers in ways that matter to them. Our commitment to learning focuses on helping employees build capabilities that drive results. By offering our employees engaging learning experiences, they’re inspired to create great experiences for our customers.

Leadership Development
Leadership is a top priority at BMO.
We’ve created a highly innovative curriculum, unique to BMO, that is anchored in our passion for our customers, and our values, brand and the actions that define our company. Being a BMO leader means bringing these elements to life, and engaging others in what it means to work here. Our leadership approach has won numerous awards and we continue to evolve the curriculum to support our leaders, today and tomorrow.

Orientation
We hire thousands of new employees each year. Our orientation program enables our people to make an impact from day one – giving them an opportunity to make new connections with other employees and understand the bank’s values and strategy.
